Interruptions Without Disruption
Leading with Rhythm, Not Balance Series
Devotional 3 of 7

Matthew 9:18-22
Jesus is already responding to a crisis when another person interrupts Him - a woman seeking healing reaches out unexpectedly.
Leadership is full of these moments:
A staff issue interrupts strategic planning
A family emergency disrupts a workday
A crisis overtakes a carefully planned agenda
Jesus does not stiffen, nor does He lose focus. He responds thoughtfully, honors the moment, and resumes movement.
Rhythmic leadership understands that interruptions are not failures of planning—they are realities of people-centered responsibility.
Leaders without rhythm resent interruption. Leaders with rhythm discern what each moment requires without internal upheaval.
Reflection
How do interruptions typically affect my internal posture?
What practices help me remain centered when plans shift suddenly?
